Hardwood floors by nature are sturdy and durable

They stand up very well to both use and abuse.

Even though wood floors are one of the most long lasting and dependable floors available, sometimes repairs will be needed. Whether you’re doing some remodeling, have damage from water, or stains from pets, you may need to have some of your existing wood flooring replaced.

The first step is to determine the size and specie of wood that you have. Newer 2-1/4” red oak flooring is the standard and is no problem to obtain and repairs are often no problem. If we are dealing with older wood or exotic species, we can usually find the wood and do the repair, but the repaired area may not match the existing floor due to the age or origin of the wood. In some cases the flooring is too old or worn out that the repair will not be possible and the floor will need to be replaced.

In most cases, after the repair has been done, the floors will require sanding and refinishing of the entire room and sometimes the entire level of the home.
